A Construction Update On The New Mt. Pleasant Academy



As of September 2008 the steel erection was in process, the north retaining wall was complete, the privacy fence at the property line was compete, the first floor concrete slabs were poured, the second floor concrete floor was being poured and the roof decking for the mult-purpose area was in progress.



In the summer of 2006, Mount Pleasant Academy was "relocated" to the old Wando High School. A new 65,000 sqft. school is being built on the old site which will include 26 general purpose classrooms, 5 special education classrooms, 2 computer labs and 3000 sqft. of multi-purpose rooms. The size of the new classrooms will be 850 sqft. as opposed to the 700 sqft. found in the old school. The new Mount Pleasant Academy is scheduled to open in August of 2009.
